This course helps you get ready for a job as an IT Support Helper. You’ll learn the basics of computers and technology — no experience needed. We’ll teach you how computers work, how to fix them, how to use the internet, and how to help people who have tech problems.

 


What You’ll Learn

  • How computers are made – Learn what parts are inside (like the brain, memory, and hard drive)
  • Find and name all the parts – CPU, RAM, power supply, hard drive, keyboard, mouse, etc.
  • Build a computer from scratch – Put all the parts together like a puzzle
  • Install Windows – Set up Windows 10 (and learn about older versions like Windows 7 & 8)
  • Install programs – Add apps like Microsoft Word, antivirus, and drivers
  • Basic networking – Understand Wi-Fi, cables, routers, and how computers talk to each other
  • Printer help – Fix paper jams, install ink, and make printers work again
  • Get rid of viruses – Find and remove bad software that slows down or breaks your computer
  • Use Control Panel – Change settings like brightness, sound, user accounts, and updates
  • Create user accounts – Make different logins for family or coworkers
  • Upgrade hardware – Add more memory, swap out old hard drives, or install new cards
  • Use MS-DOS commands – Type simple words to fix problems when the screen won’t load
  • Fix common problems – Like blue screens, slow computers, or things that won’t turn on
  • Reset forgotten passwords – Get back into your computer if you forget your password
  • Recover lost files – Get back photos, documents, or videos from broken USB sticks, memory cards, or hard drives
